I come from a family of readers and used to have my nose in a book at every opportunity.
Then in 2016 I became more interested in YouTube and my iPhone in general (all those apps!), and books took a second seat. I had also hit a patch where books written by authors that I liked were not up to scratch. In addition, I began to write The Wheelhouse so my brain was occupied with that.
I hadn't given up reading but it was focused on slurping publications and enewsletters for work and side interests.
For 2020, I have committed to read a book a week. That's at least one book a week. In whatever form. New or a re-read and keep a record to remind me and guilt myself into keeping to my resolution.
