I decided to self-publish in the end. I had approached several agents and publishers with some rejections but most often, silence.
Not wanting to leave my book on the computer for more years, I looked into self-publishing on Amazon and found the process easy to follow.
I know there's a possibility of being rejected may be because the book is different, doesn't follow a set formula, is hard to pigeonhole or isn't good enough. My view is, even if it's a disaster or no one reads/buys it, at least I've done what I set out to do in the first place and that was to write a book.
By the way, Chris Abbotsford is a pseudonym. I liked the idea of writing fiction and using another name. Added to the whole excitement. It's not hard to find out my real name, I just prefer to keep it separate.
