Deadly Secrets (Detective Erika Foster #6) by Robert Bryndza

Ripped through the last Detective Erika Foster in the series in a day and a half.

The story picks up ten days after our the ending of book 5. Some monster wearing a gasmask is stalking men and women with no sense of pattern. There is a horrific murder of a young, burlesque dancer to kick things off.

Plot and police investigation moves along at a cracking page with plenty of red herrings along the way. Delves deeper into the lives of those closest to Erika and some loose ends are tied up.

Thought the ending was a bit weak, and I didn’t like the handover from our hero to another character. Nor the ‘going alone and not telling anyone signalling this will end in disaster’ plot mechanic.
