A true story about a young American woman – Susan – falling in love and marrying a guy from China while studying in Hong Kong. On the wedding day things go wrong immediately. There is a constant theme throughout the book of the author struggling to understand and battle through horrific events.
I’ve wanted to read Good Chinese Wife for a long time. Susan’s sheer bravery and determination is vividly portrayed and the details can sometimes be a difficult read. It’s a book I recommend for all to read. 5/5
