Identity Crisis by Ben Elton (2023)

Identity Crisis by Ben Elton

This is a cracking story, and it was nice to read a book written by an author with a recognisable style and unique storytelling attributes who can mesh together with common themes and issues.

Identity Crisis is a gripping novel written by British author Ben Elton. The book is a satirical thriller that explores the themes of identity, politics, and reality TV in the modern age.

The story follows Detective Mick Matlock, an old-school detective who is drawn into a world of sex, politics, and identity groups when a series of what appear to be random murders takes place.

As Matlock delves deeper into the case, he uncovers a web of lies and deceit that leads him to question his own identity and beliefs.

In Identity Crisis by Ben Elton, the writing is sharp and witty, and he uses the novel to comment on some of the most pressing issues facing society today, including the rise of identity politics, the impact of reality TV on our culture, and the erosion of traditional values and beliefs.

Identity Crisis is a fast-paced thriller that will keep readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish.

Elton’s characters are well-developed and engaging, and his writing is both thought-provoking and entertaining.

I went for a bit of satire in Identity Crisis by Ben Elton and wasn’t disappointed; this was a quick read, and the story flowed at the right pace.

5/5

I don’t read many satirical books per se but read more fiction than non-fiction. Take a look at the main page for more reviews covering different categories (or genres as I used to say).
